About the role

Are you interested in exercising your skills to create sophisticated solutions to enable efficient delivery of products?

If you are eager to contribute to the future generation of simulation software, the International DevOps team is waiting for you to shape our future simulation products by supporting the continuous building and testing of Siemens products throughout the whole development cycle.

As a DevOps Software Engineer , on our Simcenter portfolio, you will be responsible for designing, developing, debugging and supporting product teams, with a focus on the automation-testing framework, regression testing suite, auxiliary tools, and package management.

Communication and collaboration are essential in this role: you are iterating with diverse teams, including quality assurance, development, system administrators and development engineers.

•Understand and gather requirements from your internal customers to enable efficient delivery of the software products for both Software as a Product (SaaP) and Software as a Service (SaaS) . In these both contexts, you are involved in the development and maintenance of pipelines, tools and software services.

•As a strong advocate for Test Driven Design and good software product design practices, you collaborate closely and drive software development teams to ensure that quality gates are met.

•You play a crucial role in migrating legacy architectures to embrace Cloud working paradigms, such as SaaS.

You will have the opportunity to work on complex projects, exercising your independent judgment and technical expertise to bring them to successful completion.

Your qualifications

We would love to hear from you as a passionate engineer who graduated in computer science, with demonstrable experience (5 years) in DevOps, Software Development/Test automation, in an Agile environment. You are familiar with SaaS technologies and ideally have already contributed to the transition from SaaP to SaaS.

•To succeed in this position, good communication skills are the key: you need to collaborate, drive, and influence all your internal customers to improve code health. On the other hand, you can contribute to a team discussion in an international context, listen to other perspectives, be a dedicated teammate, bringing help and problem-solving to assist other team members. Self-motivation, self-discipline, and the ability to set personal goals and work consistently towards them in a dynamic environment will go far toward contributing to your success.

•You will have experience with automated software delivery pipelines and tooling to support fast efficient delivery of a high-quality product.

•You join us with a deep understanding of the development environment with any of Python, Java/Groovy, C++/C# and csh/bash . You are familiar with Linux and Windows operating systems, i.e. RedHat, CentOS, and SUSE .

•You showcase expertise in using build tools ( make, Cmake, Ant, Maven, and/or Gradle ) and continuous build tools : GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, and Docker . Ideally, you were exposed to one or more tools such as Jenkins, Coverity, Black Duck, SonarQube etc.

Cherry on the cake - expertise in one or many of the following areas will make a difference : C++; Pentaho; Physics or math; CAD or 3D graphics; Graphic design; Parallel computing; Business Intelligence solutions, such as Pentaho or Oracle/SAP.
