DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer .As part of the our Cloud Operations organization, this position makes relevant contributions towards the delivery DevOps solutions that support outstanding cloud based microservice applications.

As an expert DevOps Engineer & lead, you will have key responsibilities in defining, planning, implementing, and operating automated infrastructure and processes that meet or exceed the service level and CI/CD objectives.

In this role, the successful person will build and maintain globally deployed IaaS environments that we meet service level agreement; support the resource requirements of the development, QA, and customer value realization teams; enable CI/CD; meet compliance standards; and are well detailed. They will participate in, and sometimes lead, proof of concept and first of a kind activities to validate product concepts.

Has diversified knowledge of methods and practices in broad areas of the infrastructure development and operations. Recognized by peers as a strong collaborator. Must excel in a team environment that changes with new technology adoption and evolving customer requirements. Works with some supervision on the most complex projects and desires to obtain complete latitude for independent judgment. Has excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership to a global platform team that's tasked with building, operating & maintaining a global Multi-cloud container runtime platform.

• Develop and maintain highly scalable, efficient, performant & resilient capabilities, meeting availability targets of 99.99%

• Using Infrastructure As Code (IAC) standard processes, build automated infrastructure within AWS, Azure, on on-premise environments, including package management, application load/configuration, systems monitoring and administration.

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees of all levels, from senior leaders to individual contributors, via use of strong customer service, interpersonal and technical skills

• Deliver improvements to source code management, deployment, operations, maintenance, cost control, security, monitoring, and audit tools and processes.

• Constantly strive to reduce toil and deliver capabilities that enable Siemens DISW to maintain competitive advantage in the marketplace.

• Ensure the production environment is operating in accordance with established procedures and standard methodologies. Provide brought up support for high severity and critical network events

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree

• We hope you have Amazon Web Services (AWS) services: ECS, EKS, S3, VPC, Lambda, Networking, IAM at sophisticated level

• We also need networking and security threat models

• Advanced working knowledge of LINUX OS and open source ecosystem

• Advanced working knowledge with system automation of highly scalable environments

• Advanced system administration experience, including solving, support, mentorship/training and oversight

• Advanced knowledge of design & implementation of GitOps processes

• Ability to adopt and extend continuous integration and testing processes, GitLab-CI experience preferred

• Ability to handle goals, track turning points and report on status

• Advanced solid understanding automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins ..)

• Solid Understanding of Cloud monitoring tools: e.g. CloudWatch , Cloudability, or equivalent
