Siemens Digital Industries Software BI Development Engineer in New Cairo, Egypt

We are currently seeking a Business Intelligence Development Engineer to join our Brightly Team in Cairo, Egypt .

As Business Intelligence Developer , you will bridge the gap between business and data engineering teams and develop robust analytics solutions for Brightly's Business Units. You will translate business goals into KPIs and metrics and work closely with development and analysts to design systems with those metrics that are collected accurately for our users.

Responsibilities:

  • Become the content expert on Brightly’s BI tools for key engineering features integration into our Products.

  • Discovery and documentation of key paths of BI tool server code sharing to ensure Product partners are aware of changes.

  • Create general tracking and code testing to show the BI tooling performance to management including use information and downtime

  • Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging and associated documentation.

  • Provide updates to customers, business and staff on a timely basis for projects and tasks.

  • Programmatically pull current inventory of reports and publishes this information to users. Make this information available to BI tooling partners including key information Product teams would like to know

  • Own the design and development of automated solutions.

  • Develop and build both source control deployment and code testing.

  • Setup notifications to Product partners of status updates to integrate with other tooling (for example: Teams).

  • Documentation on all items with flow charts for Product team clarity.

  • Generate a process for accessible logging from report writer teams including user access activity logs for Data Security purposes.

  • Create and manage BI tooling client & user group standards with documentation available to product engineering teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related technical field.

  • 4+ years of relevant role experience.

  • Hands on experience and expertise in BI tooling (e.g. Logi Report, Exago, Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, etc…), including embedding in a SAAS product, data modeling/data analysis and databases such as Snowflake.

  • Savviness with complex SQL queries and knowledge of database technologies including window and analytical functions.

  • Perform detailed data analysis (i.e. determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples).

  • Develop innovative solutions, taking into consideration performance, scalability, and availability with realistic implementation schedules.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills (both in presentation and comprehension), along with the skills for thought leadership in analytics.

  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and analytics.

  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.

  • Experience with Agile, Python, Cloud, and TSQL, and R language software and systems.

  • Familiar with version control and relational databases.

  • Experience in QlikSense, QlikCloud, and/or Logi Report is preferable.

  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, C# or Java languages TeamCity, Octopus, and Jenkins with CI/CD pipelines and Docker / Kubernetes is preferable.

  • Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and share your knowledge with others.
