Siemens Digital Industries Software Software Engineer, OSS Clearing (Hybrid) in Wilsonville, Oregon

Our software tools span the full breadth of semiconductor and electrical systems solutions, including integrated circuit design and verification, PCB design & manufacturing solutions, cable harness design tools, and embedded software.

Siemens EDA has an opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to be part of the Build and Infrastructure Group for their flagship Calibre product. The group works on multiple areas of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), including Source code management, building CI/CD pipelines, developing and supporting infrastructure on-prem and in the cloud, licensing, clearing OSS (Open-Source Software), and building and release management.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work with multiple Development Teams and Release Management to ensure that the Open-Source Software and 3rd Party Software needed for Software Releases are properly documented and sent through our Legal Clearing process.

  • The Clearing Team will present the Permissions, Restrictions, Obligations, and Risks (PRORs) associated with all licenses. You will be responsible for responding to those PRORs based on the information provided in the original requests and interacting with original requestors as needed.

  • You, together with a representative of the Clearing Team, will take responsibility for the final, overall approval of the release.

  • As a member of the Release Team, you will:

  • Provide a variety of PreRelease quality software builds daily, using established processes.

  • Ensure the appropriate, approved content is included and documented for a monthly Official Release. This will include working with multiple Development and QA Teams, driving the adherence to Release process as needed.

  • Provide Patch Software builds as needed, with the same attention to quality as required for the monthly Releases.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.

  • The candidate must exhibit a service-oriented attitude and be able to work effectively in a worldwide, multi-site development environment

  • The candidate should have a strong desire for continuous improvement and have a passion for automation and making tasks repeatable

  • This position requires excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills, as well as great attention to detail

  • The candidate should be resourceful, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative when appropriate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux operating systems

  • Proficiency with at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl)

  • Experience with Software debugging tools, Unix/Linux administration, Software Release Management

The salary range for this position is $78,500 to $141,300, and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
